Our client is an independent, market-leading wireless communications business, specialising in voice and data solutions for industries including petrochemical, construction, airline and security, as well as local government, the Ministry of Defence and the emergency services.

The Engineering Manager will have strong experience in working with radios such as:
•Motorola
•Tetra
•Digital
•MPT1327
•Tait
•Entel
•Kenwood
•Zetron
•Team Simoco
Previous management experience in a workshop setting is also required. Responsibilities will include:
•Ensuring all repair work gets processed through the workshop within its specified turnaround time. This will include supporting the administration function in the processing of job cards.
•Ensuring all sales orders are processed and quality checked so that they arrive with the customer working and on time.
•Running the hire department making sure all orders are met, stock levels are accurate and procuring new equipment when the need arises. Ensuring that radios and accessories returned from hire are repaired and returned into stock quickly.
•Filling in for the field service team as and when required.
•Compiling the weekly turn around report for the workshop.
•Conducting and maintaining the H&S risk assessments ensuring regular checks are made on all electrical items.
The manager's priorities will be as follows:
•Instigate a system of quality checking on sales orders for delivery.
•To conduct H&S risk assessments.
•To arrange for all electrical items in the Croydon offices to be PAT tested.
•To keep all equipment in calibration.
The engineering manager's ongoing role will be to increase the skills of other engineers in the workshop to a level where they have sufficient product knowledge and experience to deal with our ever changing customer requirements. The manager will be responsible for administering holiday/time off in lieu around workload demands so that there is sufficient cover in busy periods keeping the team motivated and focused on their responsibilities.
Salary: from £35,000+ (flexible for the right person)
